Module 4: Leading with Integrity and Creating Impact
A successful internship isn’t just about work output; it’s also about connections made. We instruct students to deliberately build their network during the internship.
This includes simple steps: having coffee chats with colleagues, attending company events, or maintaining contact with fellow interns. The workbook’s reflective questions ask, “What lasting friendships do I seek to form? How extensively do I want to network?” – we use these to prompt students in making a networking plan.
By the end, each student identifies a few people at their internship (peers, mentors, supervisors) they’d like to stay in touch with and notes how they will cultivate those relationships (LinkedIn, periodic check-ins, thank-you notes, etc.)
